NNDDC - NELPCo Scholarship

The NNDDC - NELPCo. Scholarship stands as a commitment of our shared investment in the boundless talent and potential of Indigenous youth. Our primary goal with this award is to empower and nurture the next generation of Indigenous leaders in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), recognizing the immense impact they can have on shaping a brighter future for Indigenous communities and beyond.

 

With two annual intakes, available for both the fall and spring semesters, we are committed to providing ongoing support to Indigenous students. To qualify for this $1,000 scholarship, applicants must be First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun Citizens who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or Graduate level years of university study. While we prioritize applicants pursuing studies in Environment, Engineering, Science, and Technology, we warmly welcome applications from students across all academic disciplines.

 

The NNDDC - NELPCo. Scholarship symbolizes our dedication to investing in the potential of Indigenous youth, fostering their leadership in STEM fields, and driving positive change for the growth of an Indigenous world view in these disciplines. If you meet the eligibility criteria, we encourage you to apply and embark on a transformative journey toward becoming a future Indigenous STEM leader.

Conditions

  1.  Must be Na-Cho Nyäk Dun citizen

  2. Must be enrolled in post-secondary and received an acceptance letter

  3. If the recipient withdraws from their full-time studies, they must return any of the scholarship that has not been used.

  4. Applicants on academic probation will not be eligible for the scholarship funds until they are no longer on academic probation.

  5. Recipients are entitled to change study if they wish and not be penalized fordoing so. If they do change studies the recipient must report the change to NELPCo at the earliest time chance.

  6. Recipients may be asked to have their names published as recipients of this award in any of NNDDC's and/or NELPCo's public communications.

Applicants must provide:

  • Completed NELPCo Scholarship Application Form

  • One letter of Reference from a post-secondary instructor or professor

  • Proof of NND Citizenship (this can be a letter from NND)

  • Most Recent Academic Transcript (for information purposes only)

  • Letter of Acceptance or proof of enrolment at any accredited educational institution with a description of the intended study area.

  • Cover Letter of Intent of educational goals and objectives.​

This scholarship is now closed.
