A primary goal of the partnership is to maximize environmental and engineering services, business, and employment opportunities in the traditional territory of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun First Nation (NND-FN). A secondary goal is to bring opportunities and socioeconomic benefits to the citizens of NND-FN and other Indigenous Peoples by procuring work either inside or outside NND-FN traditional territory through set-aside opportunities. The partnership has brought employment and training opportunities to NND-FN citizens, as well as profits to the NND-DC, which holds a majority interest in the limited partnership.

Since incorporation, NELPCo has successfully completed more than 50 projects for more than 20 clients. NELPCo has completed work for federal and municipal governments including agencies such as Yukon Government, First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun, Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), and the Village of Mayo; industrial clients including Alexco Resources, Victoria Gold Corporation, ATAC Resources, and Strata Gold; and various other private industry clients.

NELPCo technical services include environmental site assessments, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, transportation and road design, rock mechanics, hydro-technical and hydrogeological engineering, engineering for municipal water and industrial wastewater infrastructure projects, detailed transmission line design, rock slope stabilization, ice-bridge overburden dump design, geophysical and topographic surveys, annual inspections of care and maintenance structures, redesign of surface water diversion, and permafrost distribution mapping.

NELPCo currently has a Standing Offer Agreement with Government of Canada – INAC to provide mining environmental engineering services in Yukon.
